2. Dion Waiters

Right before the NBA suspended operations, the Los Angeles Laker shook up the end of their roster. On March 1st, they waived guard Troy Daniels, who landed with the Denver Nuggets. A few days later, Dion Waiters was signed to take his roster spot.

Waiters became a free agent after the Memphis Grizzlies, who acquired him as part of the Andre Iguodala trade from the Miami Heat prior to the trade deadline, waived him. Waiters has had a tumultuous season, to say the least, but has a chance to rehab his value on a contending Lakers squad.

Waiters had yet to suit up for the team, as the organization wanted him to get back into playing shape. He had played in only three games with the Heat this season, as he was suspended three separate occasions. However, when he has his head on straight, Waiters could fill the shot-creating hole the team had. He also has some playmaking ability and has improved as a 3-point shooter.

This break will give Waiters more time to get into shape with a lot less pressure. With the regular season winding down, there was only so much time for Waiters to get ready. Now, he has a few more weeks to get not only get into basketball shape but learn the Lakers playbook as well.
