– Bam Adebayo
One of the players that the Lakers should have taken over Lonzo Ball was the big man from Kentucky, Bam Adebayo. The Miami Heat selected Adebayo with the 14th overall pick and he has turned out to be a great selection by the Heat.
In his first two seasons, Adebayo didn’t have a huge role on the Heat, but it was clear that he was a raw talent with a lot of potential. While playing just under 20 minutes per game as a rookie, Adebayo averaged 6.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. In his second season, Adebayo improved a bit, as he averaged 8.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in just over 23 minutes per game.
After his first two seasons, it was clear that Adebayo could be a double-double player if he got more minutes, and the Heat provided him with that chance in his third season. In his third season, Adebayo is averaging 16.2 points and 10.5 rebounds in 34.4 minutes per game.
His great third season has resulted in him making his first All-Star team, and he could be a staple as an All-Star in the East for years to come. At just 22-years-old, Adebayo has a lot of room to continually improve as he enters his prime.
