2. LeBron James takes down Giannis Antetokounmpo — Milwaukee Bucks at Los Angeles Lakers, March 6, 2020
LeBron James’ third and second most impressive games of the season came within five days of each other as the Los Angeles Lakers enjoyed a very exciting stretch that solidified them as arguably the favorites for the NBA Title.
The Lakers beat the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers in back-to-back games with the former getting the nod as one of LeBron’s five-most impressive games this season. The narrative was apparent: it was the washed king (LeBron) versus the new king (Giannis).
It was the washed king that emerged victorious to split the season series at one.
James did not get his typical triple-double in this game but was incredible nonetheless. He scored 37 points alongside eight rebounds and eight assists. He shot .571 from the field and went 12-15 from the line, which is staggeringly impressive for LeBron.
Perhaps the most staggering part of this game was how good LeBron looked on the defensive end. He had several key stops against Giannis and finished the game with a 90 defensive rating.
A potential finals matchup between the Lakers and the Bucks is going to be fun and LeBron James proved in this game that he is still the face of basketball.
