NBA Best Duos: 2. Los Angeles Clippers — Kawhi Leonard and Paul George
- Bleacher Report rank: Third
Say what you will about how little Kawhi Leonard and Paul George played together this season, they are still a very dangerous duo and were one that the Los Angeles Lakers were on a crash course to face in the Western Conference Finals.
Kawhi Leonard is one on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore of best players and when the game is on the line in critical moments, might just be the guy to go to. Sorry to LeBron and Giannis, but so far, Kawhi has always come up big when the spotlight was on him.
Paul George, although he has not been great this year, is the second-best number two player in the league. He was an MVP finalist last season and is the elite, best-case version of a three and D wing player.
Even if he is not playing at an MVP level, George has made his case as a top-10 player in the league without a doubt.
They also fit together quite nicely. While they are both wings, they are both elite defensively and are the perfect representation of the style of basketball that the Los Angeles Clippers want to play. The Clippers did not just get the best player available in Paul George, they went out and got someone that would mesh perfectly with Kawhi Leonard.
As much as Clipper fans and Laker fans go at it, we cannot deny how dang good the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is.
