ESPN actually put on a broadcast of a H-O-R-S-E competition live for fans to watch!

It wasn’t until last weekend, that this writer believed that the NBA would be seen again this season. Understand, the NBA playoffs was supposed to start. Does Lake Show Life know who the first-round opponent would be? No. There was a potential dogfight for the 8th seed between the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers and New Orleans Pelicans.

Lake Show Life does know that it would have been a first-round sweep with four blowouts. Instead, ESPN thought they could slide by one more weekend before the highly anticipated documentary, “The Last Dance” with a H-O-R-S-E competition.

The participants for the event are listed below.

  • Trae Young vs. Chauncey Billups
  • Tamika Catchings vs. Mike Conley Jr.
  • Zach LaVine vs. Paul Pierce
  • Chris Paul vs. Allie Quigley

The game of H-O-R-S-E is one of the most fun basketball games to play. Only one thing, you personally have to be playing. But watching two people play in two different locations? Umm, no.

If you were shocked that Chauncey Billups beat Trae Young in the first round, your understanding of the game is limited. See, all Billups had to do was just get hot after being down 3-0 and come up with a shot Trae Young couldn’t complete. That shot was a one-legged 20 footer.

As for Zach LaVine against Paul Pierce? Man if this don’t keep people in the house like the medical experts say to stop COVID-19, nothing will.

Lake Show Life always says in our post-game reports, film don’t lie. Before we move on a question needs to be asked.

What does Paul Pierce have on?

What this shows is that the sports content business is at an all-time low. FanSided, Sports Illustrated, The Athletic and ESPN are all in the same boat with this pandemic. All companies are trying to find interesting content in a news cycle that is not moving. Look at how the NBA stays relevant throughout the year.

  • The NBA writes itself when the season is going on.
  • Then the playoffs takes the news cycle to a whole new level.
  • The NBA Finals crowns a new champion.
  • The lottery is broadcast during the Finals.
  • The NBA draft brings in new talent.
  • The Summer League showcases the new talent.
  • Then there’s free agency.

Out of the seven things listed above, six of them are held up indefinitely until the season starts again. Everything is on a time-table with a lot of money attached to them. With Lake Show Life being a Lakers website, we know that any Lakers rumor attached to the team, especially LeBron James, is solid gold.

He is the driving force behind the NBA news cycle. There is a lot of money attached to the man being on a basketball court. Many media experts talk about how LeBron makes his teammates better. The reality is that he makes a lot of businesses along with his teammates rich.

Speaking of money, let’s talk coins.
