5.) LeBron hits five straight threes against the Spurs
There’s nothing in this world quite like a LeBron James 3-point shot. The range, audacity, and randomness at which they manifest is wholly unique to LeBron. Sometimes you know it’s coming; James will get the switch onto the big man at the top of the key, methodically dribble the ball, luring the defender into a false sense of security.
The defender is so afraid of giving LeBron any space to barrel his way to the basket that he gives him some space, thinking a contested jumper is miles better than a potential 3-point play at the rim.
Then suddenly, it happens. James fakes like he’s about to drive, the defender is on their heels, and before they know it, he pulls back, and launches — nothing but net. Now imagine if this happened not once, not twice, but FIVE times in a row.
That is exactly what happened in a game against the Spurs, where LeBron James went supernova from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter, and single-handedly put the game on ice. Each three created an even louder roar from the Staples Center crowd, culminating in a deafening cheer after the fifth and final 3-pointer from James.
LeBron finished the game with 36 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists and went 6-9 from the 3-point line in a blowout victory against the Spurs, 102-129, moving the Lakers to a 38-11 record.
Also, that 4th quarter barrage vaulted him past Kobe Bryant for 16th on the all-time 3-point made list, marking yet another feather in the cap of one of the greatest players of all time.
