Los Angeles Lakers draft target: Desmond Bane, SG, TCU

One of the best shooters in the class, Bane shot no lower than 42.5% from three during his final three seasons at TCU. It’s not hard to imagine that many NBA teams are drooling over his long-range ability with the way the league has evolved in the last decade.

The Lakers could absolutely stand to add a few more perimeter threats to help space the floor for LeBron and AD. Bane is one of the few players in this draft who could step in immediately and make a significant impact in LA’s rotation.

Although he is not the most athletic prospect on the board, he does profile as a capable defender who positions himself well to help his team make stops at that end of the floor.

With the appeal of becoming a quality 3-and-D guy in the league, Bane is exactly the type of player the Lakers need on the perimeter. Although it hasn’t killed them this season, the lack of three-point shooting has been a glaring weakness for the team over the last couple of years.

Bane would slot in nicely to help improve that area should he still be on the board when the Lakers are on the clock.
