LeBron James: Will Jason Whitlock’s exit from Fox Sports end hot takes?

Jason Whitlock battled LeBron James to the end. For better or worse.
To get the context of all of this is his contentious relationship (One-sided. LeBron has clearly shown that he doesn’t care!) with LeBron James. James is probably known more these days for speaking up on social issues (Consider the magnitude of that statement based on his MVP-caliber season!) than what he has accomplished on the hardwood. George Floyd’s tragedy is no different.

No matter what LeBron James would have said, Whitlock has historically gone in the opposite direction. The ploy was to cause an uprising LeBron fanbase to peak out and draw attention to his show, Speak For Yourself.
But that is a slippery slope if it doesn’t work. The act brings an identity first while the reputation soon follows. With no sports and all sports businesses struggling, this tactic had to work.
It didn’t, and his social media comments got so bad, his colleague Mike Hill spoke out. Simply put, the Fox Sports 1 bosses let his deal expire, and didn’t hand him bigger money for a broken, outdated promotion practice.
