His LeBron James criticism is nothing compared to what Whitlock tried to do to Kobe Bryant.
Nothing brought more ire to lifelong Los Angeles Lakers fans than when it seemed that Jason Whitlock tried to cash in a rating boom with the death of Kobe Bryant. Even if this conversation was legitimate, good luck trying to convince anyone.

When Kobe Bryant passed earlier this year, it can’t be expressed in words how much his death was covered by the mainstream media. Not the sports media, but ALL MEDIA. This was worldwide news. To many, Whitlock’s words were considered a rating stunt to land these sports groups.

- Los Angeles Lakers fans in general
The only problem was that Kobe Bryant was criticized by Jason Whitlock for years. The man called Kobe Bryant the most fraudulent celebrity athlete ever after his 60 point finale. Yeah, that one, the last one.
Did Kobe Bryant know of Whitlock’s antics? Sure.
