Los Angeles Lakers’ things to keep an eye on: 1. Kyle Kuzma vs. Markieff Morris

Both Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris are going to have a role on the Los Angeles Lakers once the playoffs resume. They are two of the most talented role players on the team and not using either of them in the playoffs is silly.

However, with the season being postponed for four months once it officially resumes, the Lakers have to take the current sample size that they will be getting in these eight regular-season games to dictate who is a better fit for the playoffs.

Kuzma is probably the more raw talented player with a higher ceiling, but he does not fit the Lakers very well. He is not a great three-point shooter nor defender and is a bit redundant position-wise with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Morris is also redundant, but he plays much better defense and is a better three-point shooter. When the Lakers play a team like the Clippers, who have two great wing players as their best players, having another player that can guard the wing, like Morris, will be extremely valuable.

We have to look at more than just the box score at the end of the night and really look at how the two guys are fitting in with the pieces around them. This is more true for Morris, who has only played eight games with the Lakers this season.
