Los Angeles Lakers potential trade target: James Ennis

This is, by far, the least exciting of the potential trade targets for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, James Ennis would also undoubtedly cost the least as his contract is really manageable and he does not have that much trade value.

Ennis presents a veteran presence at small forward position who can be a decent off-ball shooter at times and is a fairly solid on-ball defender. His advanced defensive metrics do not jump off of the page and his career three-point shooting marks do leave more to be desired.

However, he is a fantastic athlete, even at his age, and would be a great defensive presence to add to the backend of the rotation. With Jared Dudley potentially not returning after this season, getting a different veteran in Ennis would be a smart move.

Plus, with the shortened offseason before the start of the 2020-21 season, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to need as many guys as they could get. While that will mean that the team will look to use veteran minimum contracts and their MLE, it also opens up the door for a trade for someone such as Ennis.

All it would take is a small contract and a second-round pick. Definitely a doable trade that has some value.
