Jrue Holiday has offensive talent
While Jrue Holiday is rightfully lauded for his defensive presence and his ability to lock-down opposing teams’ best players. Don’t think that Holiday is just a one-trick pony.
He can shoot.
Holiday is a 20 PPG threat per night on a team right now where he isn’t the 1st or 2nd option with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram ahead of him when it comes to getting shots.
This bodes well for what the Lakers can expect from Holiday in Los Angeles.
The Lakers desperately wanted a 3rd star to join AD and LeBron.
They pushed for Kyrie Irving. They fought for Kawhi Leonard and they battled to get D’Angelo Russell. All of which to no avail.
They clearly want a 3rd star and Jrue Holiday could be that guy.
No, he isn’t Kyrie or Kawhi but he fits a serious need for the Los Angeles Lakers.
If Holiday can join the Lakers, average roughly what he is averaging now on the Pelicans in points and assists then the Lakers will have landed themselves the perfect 3rd star.
With Holiday’s ability to score from all levels, the Laker’s floor spacing will remain intact.
With his ability to be a play-maker, the Lakers will move from one of the worst offenses in the league when LeBron is off the floor to hopefully a much higher position.
With his ability to defend, the Lakers will have a team of veterans capable of locking down their men at any time.
While it would have been amazing to have Kawhi Leonard or Kyrie Irving on the Lakers, it didn’t happen. Landing Jrue Holiday would be a great get for the Lakers.
It will cost them some key players in the process but if they can land some ring chasers in free agency, they can minimize the losses at their positions.
This Lakers team is ready to win, Jrue Holiday puts them in an even better position to win.
Can the Los Angeles Lakers make a move to land the 3rd star? Will that 3rd star be Jrue Holiday? Only time will tell.
