Los Angeles Lakers’ trade target from the Denver Nuggets: Monte Morris

This is an example of two playoff teams potentially picking from an area of strength to add talent elsewhere on the roster. The Lakers are deep at forward, and will be even deeper if Markieff Morris re-signs, and the Nuggets are deep at guard.

The Lakers potentially have some questions to answer at the guard position next season. Rajon Rondo has a player option and could walk away, we still have not seen Dion Waiters in the purple and gold and Avery Bradley opted out of Orlando and very well could opt-out of a similar situation next season if the same health concerns exist.

That is what makes Monte Morris an interesting trade target on paper. Morris would fit in nicely in the guard rotation in LA and is exactly the kind of player that the Lakers are looking for. He is a point guard who can shoot the three-point shot, does not need the ball and plays solid defense.

Morris is shooting 39.8 percent from beyond the arc this season.

The Nuggets are deep at guard and depending on how the fit with Morris is in the playoffs, I would absolutely consider a one-for-one swap between Kuzma and Morris as that would give the Nuggets their starting power forward to replace Paul Millsap.
