Los Angeles Lakers’ trade target from the Utah Jazz: Tony Bradley

I know, I know. This is not the fun, superstar trade that would be fun to speculate about with the Utah Jazz. After the Rudy Gobert COVID-19 situation reportedly caused tension between Gobert and Donovan Mitchell, the rumor mill started to churn about the Jazz potentially trading one of the two players to make matters better.

If that were to happen then Gobert becomes the obvious player to move on from. However, with enough time and understanding, the Jazz are hoping that things iron themselves out and they appear to be. Donovan Mitchell himself said that the rapport with Gobert has improved.

One thing is for certain: even if the Jazz were shopping Mitchell or Gobert, the Los Angeles Lakers do not even have close to enough capital to acquire either star.

Thus, we instead turn our focus to Tony Bradley, who would only be a trade target for the Los Angeles Lakers if Dwight Howard does not re-sign and the team is unable to bring DeMarcus Cousins back for the 2020-21 season.

There are two depth center options between veteran Ed Davis and young center Tony Bradley and Davis is probably the more realistic option as he is a great rebounder and solid rim protector but his contract is higher.

Bradley has a smaller contract and may not demand too much of a trade return as he has not done much thus far in the league. He has shown brilliant flashes, though, and on the Lakers as a depth center alongside LeBron James, who seemingly makes every center better, Bradley could absolutely bring what Howard brings to the table.

With Gobert on the roster as well as Davis, center is a position that the Jazz can afford to trade from, especially if they get something solid in return. I would not be against a deal for Bradley centered around Quinn Cook and a future second-round pick.
