Former Los Angeles Lakers player Michael Beasley is definitely a candidate for the “Last Chance” brigade!

Remember the “Meme Team” that was on the roster last year? Well, Michael Beasley definitely was one of the players that got Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka raked over the coals last year. Beasley only averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 26 games.  Beasley will be remembered for three incidents that happened last year.

Number one:

Number two:

Then there was the time that it was reported that after a primetime game on Saturday night blowout against the Warriors, Michael Beasley was one of the veterans that got into a heated debate with Luke Walton around the time the Lakers let the NBA world know about their intentions of trading half of the roster for Anthony Davis. In short, this might have been the night the roster turned into a disaster.

Number three:

Los Angeles Lakers fans must have been furious when they read about the Ivica Zubac trade along with Michael Beasley in a deal with the Clippers for Mike Muscala. It was probably worse when it was reported Jerry West and his colleagues were laughing over lunch. Michael Beasley was waived almost instantly.

Again, the fact that Michael Beasley is in the NBA is a miracle.

Assuming Beasley is cleared to participate, the former Miami No. 2 overall pick has to serve a five-game suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug policy last April. He would be eligible to play in Brooklyn’s sixth seeding game.

Brooklyn Nets Head Coach, Jacque Vaughn explains the signing via ESPN.

"“At the end of the day, we wanted this group to know that we’re here to win basketball games, and to maximize this team,” Vaughn said. “So Michael gives us a chance to put the ball in his hands and he can score from multiple positions, he can play multiple positions for us. So organizationally, we would look at the best talent out there and he presented himself and we’ll definitely take advantage of his talents.”"

Lakers fans, you can stop laughing now. He can score and this signing shows how desperate the Brooklyn Nets are. Jamal Crawford’s signing made sense. Michael Beasley? Well, you be the judge.
