Lakers bench storylines: What’s going on with Markieff Morris?

The Los Angeles Lakers social media team is one of the most active in the NBA. Thanks to J.R. Smith, we all know what is going on in the bubble.

But there’s one player that has not been seen in any of the team pictures or player social media posts. His name? Markieff Morris.

L.A. Times reporter Tania Ganguli inquired about Morris. Here’s what Vogel said.

However, it is reported that Markieff will join the team soon after an “excused” absence.

The Los Angeles Lakers do have a strict policy of releasing certain details about players. Two players contracted the COVID-19 virus and the names were never released. If Morris did have the virus and was in quarantine, you are not going to hear it from the Lakers.

Morris was brought in mid-season as a surprise addition by the Lakers. After being released by the Pistons, the Lakers almost immediately made the deal in February. In 14 minutes per game in L.A., Morris averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds. He shot 38.9 percent from the field.

Forget those numbers, Markieff’s job is to bang with Zion Williamson, Kawhi Leonard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Ben Simmons in the playoffs.
