3. Most importantly, the Los Angeles Lakers to stay fully healthy

This is usually a given as we want to see the Los Angeles Lakers leave every single game without any injuries and it is typically better left unsaid. However, because of what happened in the first two scrimmages, this becomes one of the most important things that we should be hoping for in this scrimmage.

The team is already without Avery Bradley — who opted out of re-joining the team for the health and safety of his family — and Rajon Rondo, who is out 6-8 weeks for fracturing his thumb.

To make matters worse, the Lakers had an injury scare in both of these games, both to important players. First, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope rolled and tweaked his ankle against Dallas and while he is ultimately fine, he was taken off the court rather early in the action.

Then, against Orlando, Anthony Davis was poked in the eye after being on the court for just nine minutes and was removed from the game and declared day-to-day. At the time of writing this it still has not been announced whether or not Davis is going to even play in this scrimmage.

The Lakers should take this game easy. Focus on the defensive side of the ball and the three-point shot and avoid barreling down the lane and avoiding any unnecessary contact if possible. Of course, they still need to do that to some extent to get back in game shape, but the team should be playing this game with an abundance of caution.

If LeBron James or Anthony Davis were to suffer a big injury then the Lakers’ season would be done. They might win a playoff series or two, but they would not get much further without one of their two superstars.
