Will the Los Angeles Lakers win the NBA Championship? Scottie Pippen thinks so.

NBA Hall of Famer and six-time champion Scottie Pippen likes the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA Championship. If anyone knows about what it takes to win an NBA Championship it is Scottie Pippen, who was part of one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history — the 1990s Chicago Bulls.

Pippen appeared on the latest episode of “Da Windy City with Mark Carman” and picked the Los Angeles Lakers to win the NBA Championship right ahead of the NBA’s restart in the Orlando bubble.

Pippen claimed that before the NBA’s hiatus he would have picked the Clippers to come out of the Western Conference and win the NBA Championship. The pandemic, and LeBron James, changed his thought process.

"“I got to go with LeBron’s ability to pull a team together and the impact that he can make with them in such a short period of time,” Pippen said. “Everything plays such a huge role going forward that I think LeBron’s value of what he brings to the game is going to be as big as ever right now.”"

Prior to talking about the Lakers, Pippen claimed that he did not think Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready to win the NBA Championship yet, particularly because of his lack of shooting and the big shots that teams have to hit in the playoffs.

Scottie Pippen also weighs in on who would be tougher to guard: Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James or Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant?

LeBron James and Kevin Durant are two of the best players in the NBA and have gone toe-to-toe in the NBA Finals three times. While players such as Giannis and Kawhi Leonard have taken the spotlight from Durant, he is arguably still the most lethal scorer in the league.

Pippen was asked by Caman who would be tougher to guard in their prime: Kevin Durant or LeBron James? The NBA Hall of Famer and all-time defender had a tongue in cheek answer, showing just how dominant both players are.

"“I would flip that coin and hope it doesn’t come down.”"

Pippen went on to explain that LeBron has “a lot more physicality and power that he beats you up with” whereas Durant is someone that beats you with “his range and length and ability to shoot the ball over people”.

Ultimately, Pippen did not give a concrete answer, also stating that he does not even think Kevin Durant has reached his prime yet.
