JaVale McGee has actually been worse than Danny Green in Orlando!

This entire Lake Show Life Lessons postgame report has been all about Anthony Davis if you really look closely. His immaculate defense covers up the fact that JaVale McGee has been so bad that Shaquille O’Neal and the TNT crew might be bringing back the Shaqtin A Fool segment and run only his highlights.

Or maybe Frank Vogel is protecting him by benching him. Either way, he hasn’t shown up. JaVale McGee scored the same amount as you the reader did against the Jazz. Zero, zip, zilch, nada, squat, no mas’, null and void. If Danny Green can get smoked for not scoring in the starting lineup, so can McGee.

His ineffectiveness is a problem for the Los Angeles Lakers. The combination of McGee and Dwight Howard at the center spot gave teams fits before the shutdown. Since the season restarted, the Lakers have gotten nothing from McGee but fouls and his hands up talking to referees.

Now when Dwight Howard doesn’t get in foul trouble, the beat goes on for him. In 17 minutes, Howard scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He hit all four of his field goals and shot 3-4 from the free-throw line. Why is that big? He shoots 49% for the season.

With this one play, the Utah Jazz zone was never seen again.

With McGee’s struggles, it will force Anthony Davis to play the 5 spot more. Only one problem, Anthony Davis will not play the position for long stretches. McGee has to get it together especially if Howard gets into foul trouble.
