Who’s going to take the leadership role and get this team prepared for the playoffs!?

The Los Angeles Lakers are stuck between a team is trying to figure out players that compliment their two superstars while keeping the stars fresh going into the playoffs. All of this has to be done while gaining momentum for a tough postseason run. There has to be some balance here and this game was a poor example of it.

The coaching staff and the stars are going to have to find the proper balance to finish the season. If the stars need rest, fine. Rest them. Allow some of the other players that desperately need minutes on the floor (Oh maybe Markieff Morris and J.R. Smith for example!) to get their rhythm.

If the stars play, the have to give out some effort and not coast through games with the belief that just having the number one seed will just work out. This is a leadership thing.

Want to see an example?

Here’s Chris Paul. The point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder fighting for position in the Western Conference playoffs.

He set the tone for his team, kept them focused and left one of his business cards scoring 19 points (8-12 shooting!) 7 rebounds, 6 assists and game high plus/minus of +25.

Now he wasn’t just doing work on the court, he was engaged in timeouts helping out his teammates. In other words, he was preparing his young team for a playoff run in two weeks.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James were seen laughing it up on the sidelines in the second blowout loss in their last three games. See the difference?

Sure there will be readers that think this postgame is an overreaction or a panic article. Okay. Lake Show Life will let you have that narrative.

But if the Los Angeles Lakers don’t clean up this mess and make adjustments under the aura of “Don’t worry we have the number one seed”, the playoff run will end a lot quicker than you think. Lake Show Life is first on record to make this statement.
