2. A big that can shoot

The Los Angeles Lakers have had really solid production out of their two veteran centers this season. JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard have split time almost perfectly and have both been fairly solid for the Lakers this season.

McGee has played really bad in the Orlando bubble and Howard has been fine, nothing special. The team has ran Anthony Davis at the five more often than before and have called on AD to take a decent number of threes.

The team even had Markieff Morris playing quite a bit of five. Morris can shoot but he is undersized for a five.

Howard is a free agent after the season and McGee has a player option. Preferably, the team would work out a way to keep Howard and replace McGee with a three that can shoot as Howard is the more productive of the two.

Heck, if the team keeps both centers perhaps they can replace Jared Dudley’s spot on the roster with a big that can shoot. Regardless, having a center that can shoot will make the offense more versatile, especially in coming up against teams like the Houston Rockets.

The obvious enticing option would be DeMarcus Cousins, who signed with the team for the 2019-20 season but never played because of injury. Does he re-sign for cheap after the Lakers allowed him to continue to rehab with the team despite being released? Perhaps. Who knows.
