Kobe Bryant: Mickey Mouse
Mickey Mouse is the most well-known figure in Disney history. He is Disney’s biggest icon taking on a life and presence of his own that embodies all of the values that make Disney what it is. This is exactly what Kobe Bryant is to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Mickey Mouse’s first appearance came in 1928 and his legacy and impact still live on. Even though Kobe Bryant is no longer with us physically, his impact and legacy live on through the millions (possibly billions) he inspired and the iconic Mamba Mentality.
This list is focused on the 2020 Lakers and Kobe is to the 2020 Lakers what Mickey is to Disney. Kobe is the immortal force that is driving the team as they just announced that once the Lakers make it out of the first round, they will be honoring Kobe with special snake-skin Black Mamba jerseys throughout their title run.
Mickey is the face of what Disney represents as Mickey represents a positive attitude, kindness, compassion and caring. Kobe is the face of what the Los Angeles Lakers represent as far as winning (with his five championship rings), hard work, strong leadership and the relentless pursuit of dreams and greatness against all odds. Both are the ultimate representation of making dreams come true in their own way.
All of Disney’s achievements are inspired by Mickey Mouse. Kobe may not be on the official roster of the 2020 Lakers, but the 2020 Lakers are comprised of players who were all inspired by Kobe, just as Kobe will be the inspiration and driving force behind their 17th championship.
