Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in Game 2 win over Portland Trail Blazers!
By Ronald Agers
LeBron James set the tone of the basketball game in one exchange with Gary Trent Jr.
Anthony Davis’ huge night allowed LeBron James to play about 27 minutes which is a very ideal situation with reported groin issues. If you didn’t watch the game you would think that 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists is a very off night. Lake Show Life will shock the Lakers Nation and tell you that he made a bigger impact in this game than he did in game one.
Here’s how.
In game one, the Blazers were sending guard Gary Trent Jr. to defend him to relative success (They won right!). Trent started to pick him up full court. A sequence happened where the two exchanged words. LeBron James stopped playing the point and parked himself in the paint and worked the Trail Blazers like a part-time job.
- On the first play immediately after words were exchanged, LeBron takes Gary Trent in the post. Nurkic has to leave AD to help defend. LeBron easily hits Davis with the pocket pass for the dunk.
- On the second play, BBQ chicken alert as LeBron beats up Trent down low and muscles him for an easy two points.
This is a part of LeBron James’ game that drives the Lake Show Life staff nuts. Instead of standing out on the wing pounding the ball for 10-15 seconds, get down on the post and punish this team. If a guard like Gary Trent is guarding him one on one, punish the Portland franchise for disrespect.
LeBron James might have just turned the entire series around by setting a tone of toughness and taking the will away from the Blazers. In other words…DOMINATE!
Speaking of the word DOMINATE! LeBron James gave the small “Happy Meal” size. Keep reading to see the full “Value Meal” dished out by Anthony Davis.
