2. Seth Curry
- Contract signed: Four years, $32 million
This is a bit longer of a contract than the Los Angeles Lakers were giving out last summer but it is at such a low AAV for today’s NBA that it would have been worth tacking on the two extra years for such a low salary.
This is more than just a hindsight move though as I was someone on the record as wanting Seth Curry on the Lakers. While he does not have the defensive presence that some of the other Lakers have, imagine if he was playing instead of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The results would be excellent.
Curry is quietly one of the best shooters in the league that gets overlooked because of his namesake. Curry shot 45.2 percent from beyond the arc this season on five attempts per game and is a career 44.3 percent three-point shooter.
He is one of the most consistent three-point shooters in the entire league and alongside LeBron James would thrive tremendously. Right now, the biggest x-factor for the Lakers is their three-point shooting and Curry would make sure that the team never had a terrible night, which is all the Lakers really need.
If there were any doubts about Curry last summer then he cleared them all with his play this season. If only it was on the Los Angeles Lakers.
