Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in Game 3 win over Portland Trail Blazers
By Ronald Agers
Anthony Davis did just enough in support for the Los Angeles Lakers!
Don’t let the headline fool you. Anthony Davis was playing pretty bad in the first half. He missed free throws, he turned the ball over. He looked like the same inconsistent player that commanded the criticism of this site and whispers of other media platforms.
Sure he can blow up social media with plays like these.
But AD finished with just 6 points in the first half and the Los Angeles Lakers were behind. In the second half, he had an epiphany…
AD’s thoughts (Lake Show Life style!):
You know Jusuf Nurkic and Hassan Whiteside really can’t guard me.”
From that point on, the Blazers’ big men were thrown in a broom closet. Anthony Davis destroyed them. At one point in the fourth quarter, he whipped Nurkic so badly by draining three straight mid-range jumpers and then followed those up by drawing a foul on Jusuf Nurkic on a fourth.
On the defensive end, Nurkic was reduced to throwing up weak attempts at the basket that had the ESPN crew calling him out.
Anthony Davis will be able to show his stat line to the Lakers casuals with a 29 points, 8 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks and 11 rebound stat line, but the true fans that are looking for title #17 see different.
He took a step back from game two being aggressive and imposing his will on a weak Blazers front line. He has to dominate for the Los Angeles Lakers to have a chance for the title! The first AND the second half.
Lake Show Life Lessons talks about the stars, but we go deeper to talk players that are overlooked that were key to the success of the Los Angeles Lakers. Keep reading to see who they were.
