Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in Game 3 win over Portland Trail Blazers
By Ronald Agers
Rajon Rondo was active for this game before back spasms kept him out. What’s Frank Vogel’s plan?
Monday’s game will be very interesting. Rajon Rondo more than likely will be back in the rotation. With the minutes gauge hovering about 10-15 minutes, the $64 dollar question is this.
Who in the backcourt will sacrifice minutes?
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope:
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope continued his strong effort building on game 2 scoring 13 points and combined with LeBron James dropping 3 point bombs in the third quarter to help the Lakers extend their third-quarter lead.
Sorry, he’s not going anywhere. Whatever medication KCP took for his injuries, the Los Angeles Lakers should sell for $49.95. It might bring Ponce De’Leon back from the dead (If you don’t know who he is, work on your history! He tried to find the Fountain of Youth!).
Danny Green:
If Danny Green lost minutes, most wouldn’t be sad, even though he got two huge blocks on Lillard’s three-point attempts late in the game. He actually hit 2-4 from distance for 8 points.
J.R. Smith:
The writer of the post-game report is happy! J.R. played but didn’t play long. Nine minutes, 3 missed shots (Two from distance!) and two fouls. One was on a Damian Lillard 3 point attempt (He didn’t foul him!). He was not seen again.
Dion Waiters:
He might be starting a DNP-CD collection (Did not play: coaching decision!). He played one minute in game one. He played 15 minutes of garbage time in game two.
Here’s a theory. Dion Waiters has shocked many at Lake Show Life with his shot creation and buckets. However, there’s something that he lacks that Frank Vogel demands…defense.
This report is dedicated to Lakers icon, the late great Kobe Bryant.
Happy Birthday Kobe Bryant! Hug Gianna for all of Lakers Nation!
