2. Goran Dragic

As previously mentioned, Goran Dragic sat out of Game 2 of the NBA Finals after suffering a plantar tear in his foot in Game 1, in which he had a very limited role. Dragic’s impact on the Heat became very evident in Game 2, as Kendrick Nunn and company were not able to replace the workload.

You would think that the Heat would be able to match the scoring output of Dragic with Nunn, Herro and an increased offensive output from Jimmy Butler. In a sense, they did, as the Heat still scored 114 points in this game.

Where it really burned the Heat was on the defensive side of the basketball. Herro and Robinson simply do not have the defensive IQ and experience at this point in their career to keep up with a team like the Lakers, especially when the Heat are running zone and every single piece has to be operating smoothly.

Dragic is important to the Heat and he would be excellent on the Los Angeles Lakers.

While Rajon Rondo has been great in the NBA Playoffs, there is no refuting the fact that Goran Dragic would be a far better option for the team. Even if Rondo returns, the Lakers could bring in Dragic to replace someone such as Avery Bradley.

He would be that third veteran scorer that can take some of the pressure off of AD and LeBron in the regular season, something the Lakers did not get from Danny Green (or Kyle Kuzma, for that matter).

He can take the ball up the court and facilitate, is really solid as an off-ball scorer and can hold his own defensively, especially with Frank Vogel coaching him.

In a perfect world, the Los Angeles Lakers bring Dragic to LA after defeating the Heat on an MLE deal.
