Anthony Davis combined the precision and skill of Kobe Bryant with the dominance of Shaquille O’Neal!

At this point, the Miami Heat has to pray hard the next two nights that Anthony Davis has an off night. There’s nothing that they can do. AD is killing them in historic fashion. He shot up to third all-time in scoring for his first two games in the NBA Finals behind two familiar Lakers big men.

  • Shaquille O’Neal-83 points.
  • Kareem Abdul-Jabbar-71 points.
  • Anthony Davis-66 points.  AD is shooting 63% from the field, 60% in 3 pointers and hasn’t missed a free throw in the NBA Finals!

But let’s just talk about this game. Trust, there’s enough to talk about.

Remember that vaunted Miami zone NBA pundits were worried about? It doesn’t work. Anthony Davis is carving it up from the inside and outside with smooth collaborations from LeBron James and Rajon Rondo (More on them later!).

Lake Show Life breaks down the dominance of Anthony Davis in Game 2.

  • AD shot 7-8 from the field in the first half.
  • Then he shot 7-8 from the field IN THE 3RD QUARTER!
  • He recovered from rebound amnesia. He had 8 offensive rebounds!

In 40 minutes, Anthony Davis scored 32 points (15-20 shooting, one from distance!) grabbed 14 rebounds with an assist and steal. About a month ago, Lake Show Life wrote a piece wondering if AD could handle the pressure.

Well, those questions have been put to rest quite comfortably. Not only is Davis handling the pressure, but he is also bursting Miami’s pipes with the pressure he brings. The Heat zone is being decimated with his cuts to the basket on the baseline while he is shooting over Jae Crowder, Andre Iguodala and other Heat defenders like they are chairs.

Kendrick Nunn blocked his shot. Who cares?

What will be overlooked is the defense. Jimmy Butler was bothered all night even though he finished with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. Most of the night, Butler was looking over his shoulder passing up shots worrying about AD. Butler has to score 40 points for any chance for a Heat win in this series.

It won’t happen with AD on the floor.

Bottom line, structurally and schematically even with Adebayo, the Heat just don’t appear to have an answer for him.

Wanna talk about LeBron James? Man, that dude was giving out business cards too. Read on to see what he did!
