Well, we finally found what can stop Anthony Davis…FOUL TROUBLE!

Nothing is more irritating than hearing fans whine about referees calls. The conspiracy theories, the “hate” the NBA has for the Los Angeles Lakers etc. Usually, comments about this subject usually get panned in the comment section. One reader inspired me to take a closer look.

Donald:

"Half of those calls weren’t fouls. And what made it even worse, the same BS calls they made against the Ls weren’t called on the other end against the Heat. The refs did all they could to keep the Heat in the game with bogus calls to, as u said, ‘bail’ them out."

This is not to say this comment is right or wrong, but some of the calls the kept Anthony Davis in foul trouble were sketchy to say the least. Okay, Donald is right.

Anthony Davis also wasn’t good in Game 3, suffering from two early fouls that put him in trouble the whole first half. He spent the rest of the night playing catchup to the Miami Heat while running from his 5th foul basically after halftime. He finished with 15 points on 6-9 shooting, 5 rebounds (2 offensive!), 3 assists, 2 steals and 5 turnovers.

Lake Show Life constantly gauges the Lakers’ success on the aggressiveness of AD early. The early foul trouble put the team in trouble. Not to say he didn’t try.

But nine shots is not going to get it. Check out his teammates who shot more.

  • Markieff Morris had 13 shots.
  • Kyle Kuzma had 13 shots.
  • He had only one more than Rajon Rondo who had 8 shots.

The Heat made adjustments that frustrated AD along with the fouls. It’s up to Frank Vogel to make changes. While AD’s adjustment might be a challenge, read on to see an adjustment that is very easy.
