Anthony Davis did not score as much as Los Angeles Lakers fans are used to but his defense was epic!

What LeBron James did on the offensive end would not have mattered if Anthony Davis did not anchor the Lakers’ best defensive performance over the last three quarters. Especially what he did to Jimmy Butler.

  • Jimmy Butler started off shooting 5-for-5 which including 4-for-4 against Anthony Davis.
  • Butler also had 3 open shots in the first quarter.

Afterwards?

  • Butler had just 3 open shots the rest of the way.
  • After the first quarter, Butler was 1-for-7 with Davis as his primary defender.

It was bigger than these stats here. Jimmy Butler passed up numerous shots in this game. His aggressiveness waned as the game went on. Lake Show Life mandated that Butler HAS to score 40 points for any chance of a Miami win. He was nowhere close scoring 22.

AD still dropped 22 points (8-16 shooting!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and had the Miami roster on a swivel with 4 blocks!

Then he gave Bam Adebayo a nice participation souvenir to take back with him to the hotel room to remember the experience until Friday!

In yet another instance where AD is putting the whispers of his lack of toughness to bed, Lakers Nation had to be scared to death when Alex Caruso was shoved into AD’s legs. After being down on the floor for a few minutes, he got back up to knock down this huge shot and lock down the Heat offense on the other end.

Look this post-game just crowned LeBron James as the Finals MVP, but to the casuals that are just around because of the “King”, Lake Show Life has a message.

Understand this dude’s efforts are going make it happen.

Anyone tired of hearing that the Los Angeles Lakers need a third scorer yet? Lake Show Life is too. Frank Vogel has stated all season that it’s by committee. Read on to see who’s turn it was in Game 4!
