Los Angeles Lakers: KCP joins the Lakers “Big 3” in Game 4, 4 Lessons
By Ronald Agers
Rajon Rondo shows how to be effective without scoring and Frank Vogel okey-doked Lake Show Life again!
Welcome to another episode of why analytics sometimes don’t tell the story. This post-game report’s guest star is Rajon Rondo.
If you looked at his box scores and didn’t watch the game, you would think Rondo was terrible. He shot 1-7 from the field, missed both of his 3’s and scored 2 points. Who cares? He was a major reason the Lakers closed the Heat out in crunch time.
The other stats he collected was the difference. He had 7 rebounds (Including 2 major offensive late!) and 5 assists and ran the offense to perfection.
Throughout the game, he kept taking Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro off the dribble taking the ball to the hoop. He missed in the first half, but he loosened up the middle when the Heat changed from zone to man to man. By the end of the game, Rondo hit a big lay-up to keep Miami at bay!
Shout out to Frank Vogel:
This is the only guy this writer would trust with his money at a Las Vegas poker table. Frank Vogel sees things that the opposition sees too late and this staff takes a game or two to understand.
Dwight Howard’s minutes have slowly diminished since Game 1 much to this site’s chagrin. Giving Markieff Morris more minutes (30) combined with LeBron James and Anthony Davis is killing the rhythm of the Heat offense. Now that the bigs are knocking down shots from deep, Bam Adebayo is getting stretched out on one end and Jimmy Butler is trying to grow eyes in the back of his head on the other.
Our bad Coach Vogel, we’ll have to be more patient!
The Los Angeles Lakers will have two days off to rest before Game 5 on Friday. Look, folks, the job is not finished. Stop talking trades (Somebody talking Buddy Hield on Twitter!) and enjoy the journey. Nobody knows what will happen in the future at this point or cares.
LeBron take us out!
This team will have two days off to rest and adjust before they try to make that happen. The job’s not finished, but they’re only one game away now.
