1. The league is getting better next season

The Los Angeles Lakers are going to have more competition for the NBA Championship next season. While teams like the Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks won’t make any move to take them to an entirely new level, there will be several teams that join the trio on the highest NBA pedestal.

There are two teams in particular that I would look out for in the Western Conference alone. The Golden State Warriors are going to be healthy and while they were terrible last season, they cannot be discounted in 2021.

A trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green is still a formidable one, especially with all of their playoff experience. Add in the possibility of a big splash with Andrew Wiggins’ contract and the second-overall pick and the Warriors are going to make noise.

The Dallas Mavericks are another team that is going to get closer to that top rung. Luka Doncic is going to get a year better, Kristaps Porzingis has another year under his legs after his injury and the team will undoubtedly add more pieces around them.

A Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, Mavericks top-four in the Western Conference feels inevitable.

In the Eastern Conference, the Lakers might see a different NBA Finals challenger in the Brooklyn Nets, who are getting Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving healthy and have a really good support cast around them that either will make them insanely deep or prompt them to land a third star.

The Lakers want to continue their dominance over the NBA. Making an addition helps that.
