1. Boston Celtics

Rajon Rondo returning to Boston Celtics is more than just a cute storyline, it is something that absolutely could be on the table this offseason. While Rondo’s tenure in Boston did not end on the best terms, it would be quite the homecoming for the veteran guard to return to the place where he started his career.

The Celtics have a solid starting point guard in Kemba Walker and an excellent sixth-man in Marcus Smart. However, they really could use a veteran like Rondo to bring off of the bench and orchestrate the second unit. Right now, the team does not really have anyone to fit into that role.

Brad Wanamaker is essentially that guy for Boston and I would not say that he is someone who necessarily moves the needle. He did make an impact in the NBA Playoffs but the Celtics would have absolutely loved to have a veteran like Rondo to help navigate a team like the Miami Heat.

While this unit has made playoff runs together, they don’t really have anyone that is all that experienced. And if we learned anything from the Lakers this season it is that playoff experience really can help split the hairs between two great teams.

Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker are the most experienced players on the team and neither has led deep playoff runs.
