Trade Scenario Number 2:

Evan Fournier has put together a good little career scoring the basketball in Orlando. In eight seasons he has averaged 14.1 points on a shooting line of 44.9/37.5/80.7. He can get you 20-25 on most nights and has a good scoring arsenal.

He currently has a player option that is set to be $17.1 million for the 2020-21 NBA season. All signs have led to him picking that up. He is signed under Bird Rights so the Lakers could choose to extend him if a trade were made.

It’s an interesting trade because Fournier was very outspoken about the Lakers and complaining to referees. But cooler heads prevail as the Lakers move forward looking win championships. There aren’t many players available as a third option that can score like Fournier.

The Orlando Magic seem like they’ve hit their ceiling, they always hover around the eight seed and never seem to be better. They could look to switch things up and make Fournier available.

In the deal, they get younger with Kuzma and get a draft pick to help get them a prospect. They take on Danny Green as a veteran and could always choose to buy him out if needed.
