3. He can hit 3-pointers
Yes, Harkless may not be the second coming of Ray Allen, but he has the ability to be a reliable 3-point shooter.
This past season, in 50 games with the Los Angeles Clippers, he made a solid 37.0 percent of his treys. That percentage went down after being traded to the New York Knicks, but granted, the Knicks have no one who can draw away defenses and get Harkless good looks.
Two seasons ago, while with Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers, Harkless shot a red-hot 41.5 percent from downtown.
The Los Angeles Lakers need some improvement with their outside shooting, as they were up and down throughout the season, and they absolutely need their wings to shoot better than average from beyond the arc.
With James and Anthony Davis to play off of, and especially if the Lakers also add another guard who can score and set up others, Harkless should get plenty of open shots in L.A.
