2. Re-sign DeMarcus Cousins

This move falls into a separate step since it is slightly different than re-signing Markieff Morris and Dwight Howard. Ironically, Howard was signed to replace the injured Cousins last season and Cousins was released later in the year to make an extra roster spot for Morris.

Despite this, I think there is a fairly good chance that Cousins returns to the Los Angeles Lakers. He still traveled with the team and appeared to mesh well with the team and even continued rehabbing his injury with the Lakers after being released.

There seems to be a great relationship there and Cousins really has no reason to go elsewhere. No team is going to sign him to a big deal because of his injury concerns and the Lakers have done more than enough to take care of him.

We should not expect Cousins to be the All-NBA center he once was without seeing it first but even if he is 80% of what he used to be then the Lakers are getting a well-above-average center back for cheap.

I am still in love with the idea of a Cousins-LeBron-Davis trio. That would be extremely fun to watch and extremely hard to stop.
