6. Sign veteran ring-chasers, headlined by Kyle Korver

There are always going to be veteran ring-chasers that are willing to sign veteran minimum contracts to contend for an NBA Championship. While Kyle Korver was on a contending team in the Milwaukee Bucks last season, the Lakers would provide a new destination for him to contend.

Korver has familiarity with LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers and would get to benefit from the lavish LA lifestyle. Korver is no longer going to be a huge impact player at this point in his career but he absolutely can get 8-10 minutes off the bench and hit a few big shots.

Korver will not be the only veteran ring-chaser and based on the size of the roster to this point I think the team will sign one more — the question is just who it will be. Wilson Chandler is the first player that comes to mind as he is still a viable NBA contributor, although he signed to play in the China Basketball Association.

His contract could have an NBA out, which is common in those contracts, but we do not yet know if that is the case.

There are other options, such as Marvin Williams or Luc a Mbah Moute. This second veteran ring-chaser is not going to be a great option and probably won’t even play that much, similar to Jared Dudley.
