1. Trey Burke
The Los Angeles Lakers could be in need of some depth at guard next season. Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope both are opting out of their contracts and both guys very well could leave the team this offseason.
Then there is the uncertainty around Avery Bradley, who opted not to re-join the Lakers in the NBA bubble and has not yet committed to playing next season. It is not a guarantee that he plays.
Trey Burke would be an interesting name to add to the bench that would not take up much cap space. Burke has bounced from team to team in the NBA but has shown some serious potential at times and would absolutely be better in Los Angeles.
Burke is someone who could take the ball up court if needed off the bench when LeBron James is off the court and if the team does not trust Caruso to be in that role full-time. More importantly, though, Burke can be an off-ball shooting target.
In 33 games between the Philadelphia 76ers and Dallas Mavericks last season, Burke shot 42.7% from three in 2.3 attempts. That percentage is a bit of an outlier in his career but he is a talented shooter and will be even better as a spot-up shooter playing alongside someone like LeBron James.
