Los Angeles Lakers: 5 lottery-level NBA Draft prospects that could fall to LA
2. Killian Tillie, C/PF
Like the aforementioned Grant Riller, Killian Tillie is a four-year college player that is entering the draft out of the Gonzaga powerhouse. He represents a modern NBA big man that can stretch the floor with ease, evidenced by an excellent 44.4 percent mark from three across his college career.
He is on the weaker side in the post, but considering that he stretches the floor at such a high level, he seems to be a safe bet to at least be an average NBA contributor.
Across 24.6 minutes of play per game this past season, Tillie averaged 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and a 40.0 3PT%. The Lakers have typically run sets with immobile centers under Vogel (McGee, Howard, etc.) and Tillie represents a nice change of pace. Without looking too far ahead, Tillie is a very obvious complement to the game of Anthony Davis should the Lakers desire Tillie’s services.
The rotation of bigs on the Lakers is currently one-dimensional and Tillie can change that. Being a seasoned college veteran helps his odds of contributing to a contender right away and can be found as late as ‘undrafted’ in some expert mock drafts. If I was a betting man, I would peg him to go in the 25-40 range of the draft as he fits in with multiple NBA teams right now.
