2. Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors
Many teams around the NBA considered last season much more wide open due to the injuries that crippled the Golden State Warriors. The juggernaut that appeared to be in the middle of a long-term dynasty saw their team decimated in the NBA Finals in 2018.
After the Los Angeles Lakers were able to take advantage of a Warriors-less season, the team up north will be looking to reclaim the crown.
The Warriors are now without superstar Kevin Durant, but potentially their biggest move this coming season is the return of both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The Splash Brothers are still a dynamic duo that the Lakers will not want to take lightly.
They showed that they can be deadly without Kevin Durant in the past. Can they do it again a handful of years later?
The 2019-20 NBA season was not all lost for the Golden State Warriors. Following an awful season, they were gifted the number two overall pick in the upcoming draft. While they could certainly add a top-notch prospect in the draft, most would expect them to trade the pick for a win-now player to help Curry and Thompson battle for a championship.
