Lakers: Projecting Anthony Davis’ 9th season based on other NBA greats

What to expect from Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis has already shown up to this point in his career that he has a chance of being an all-time great player. He has All-Star appearances and a newly-minted championship ring to put himself in the conversation, but there is always room for more.

Looking at what some other players with similar career paths did in their 9th seasons, it’s not a stretch to say AD might put up some insane numbers this coming year. While it is a bit too early to make statistical predictions, one should feel confident anticipating an MVP caliber season out of the Lakers’ big man.

I think it’s fair to expect this year’s Anthony Davis to be the Lakers’ #1 option on offense and continue to dominate on defense, putting himself in both the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Award conversations.

I would also not be the least bit surprised if he puts up career highs in several categories, whether that’s points per game, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, truly any and all of the above are on the table.

In short, expect Anthony Davis to dominate in his 9th NBA season.
