Laura Ingraham’s “Point of View” on athletes speaking out just kept LeBron James focused!

The arranged marriage between LeBron James and the mainstream media is a scientific metamorphosis all of it’s own. LeBron is not only the face of the NBA, but the most powerful athlete on the planet. No matter what athlete you come up with (Michael Jordan might be the closest!), they just don’t compare.

Any article or show that has this man’s name in it (Lake Show Life included!) will bring attention. As smart as LeBron is on the hardwood, he’s even smarter when it comes to dealing with the media.

No media company is affected more than the Fox Corporation.

From the Fox Sports side, the LeBron criticism has been championed by Skip Bayless and Jason Whitlock. On the Fox News side, Laura Ingraham has used her show to question many of Mr. Obama’s credentials and policies. A couple of years back, she used LeBron James for shock value when LeBron blasted Donald Trump’s leadership. Max Kellerman explains here.

Now one of the major issues in both of Donald Trump’s campaigns surrounded the controversy of “Standing up for the National Anthem” to honor the flag. Drew Brees spoke out about the subject during the NBA shutdown.

Here’s a technicolored example of what Kellerman is talking about. Watch the video below that not only shows Ingraham’s disdain for LeBron speaking out on social issues but DEFENDS the compassion for Drew Brees doing the same thing. It’s very rare that LeBron even responds to things like this, but he did with plenty of other NBA players as well.

Media moves like this got NBA players to use social media to speak out. When George Floyd was killed by a police officer, players joined the protesters out in the streets. Thanks to one phrase that sparked a revolution.

Shut up and Dribble!

It also started a list of things the players and the NBA implemented to spark awareness of social injustice. Some were on board with continuing the season, while others thought playing would be a distraction to the Black Lives Movement which was front and center.

The season would continue, but another incident threatened the end of the season. Read on to see what was reported at the time and what wasn’t.
