Rob Pelinka has upgraded the squad at a fraction of the price and the team is even more dangerous!

Get used to this phrase.

Rob Pelinka is robbing the NBA blind with these moves. He’s so good at this, it’s almost criminal

  • Dennis Schroder:19 points and 4 assists. Huge upgrade over Green and needed playmaker that was needed LAST YEAR!
  • Montrezl Harrell: 18.6 points and  7 rebounds in less than 25 minutes a game.  The current sixth man of year winner. Energy guy that will crash the boards with LeBron and AD. Protects AD from physical play. Robs the Clippers for a major rotational piece.
  • Wes Matthews: Perfect player to replace Green as a wing defender at the fraction of cost. He averaged 7.4 points, while shooting 36.4% from distance. Green was doing basically the same at $15 million.

Fun fact: The Los Angeles Lakers have the top two sixth men in the NBA on their roster. Think that’s nice? Ask the Los Angeles Clippers, who was bragging that narrative last year.

Wesley Matthews will be one of the more underrated signings now that Harrell and Schroder are in the mix. But don’t sleep on this guy. He can get hot from the land of the extra point like on this night when he played with Dallas.

Look for the team to try (Good luck with this!) and retain Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency, but for now, they are at least guaranteed to go into the season with one other capable wing defender aside from Kyle Kuzma. That is if he’s still around.

To the people that think that this was too much or too soon to lock in an agreement from Matthews, walk away from them. Consider the need of his skill set for the Lakers at the price. After last year, it was probably smarter to not wait things out too long.

dark. Next. LeBron James' greatest teammate
