#3: Offensive Fit

The first aspect of the game in which Harrell will fit perfectly with the Los Angeles Lakers is on offense. On offense, Harrell does not need the ball in his hands to be effective and this is exactly what the Lakers want from a center.

When looking at the centers last year, both JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard did not spend much time with the ball in their hands. Their role on offense was to set screens, get rebounds, and catch lobs. Neither were expected to shoot from outside or be playmakers in any way.

This is the perfect role for Harrell. Although he only stands at 6’7″ at the center position, he is a gritty defender on the offensive end. Last season, he averaged 2.6 offensive rebounds a game. He also possesses the athleticism to be a high flyer and catch lobs.

Lastly and possibly most importantly, Harrell is one of the best in the league in playing the pick and roll. Harrell ranked 12th in the league in terms of points per game from the pick and roll.

Despite this, he ranked 21st in possessions per game he was used in the pick and roll. Considering that he was playing a bench role on the Clippers and the Lakers are an offense that uses the pick and roll more frequently, it is likely that these numbers will rise for Harrell.

Along with this, because of his efficiency in the pick and roll, it is likely that this will be something that the Lakers frequently turn to when they are in need of a bucket.
