3. DeMarcus Cousins

This is a deal that makes a lot of sense for the Lakers. They brought in DeMarcus Cousins last year to help the team at the center position. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL and missed the entire season before ever suiting up with the team.

It wasn’t long ago that Cousins was one of the most dominant centers in basketball. In his years with the Kings and Pelicans, he played All-NBA basketball. He was one of the best scorers in the game and he could create offense for his teams.

The Lakers would be wise to bring him back on another veteran minimum deal and see what he has. Injuries have kept him off of the court most of the last three years. But on a minimum deal, the value is there and you can go over the cap to sign veteran minimum guys.

With the offseason Pelinka has put together and the roster that he now has. This value here is worth it. The boom or bust factor isn’t taken into play because the contract is so small.

Anything Cousins can give this team is a bonus.
