3. Dewayne Dedmon

The Lakers brought in Marc Gasol in free agency on a team-friendly deal. Now with the recent waiving of Jordan Bell who they received in the JaVale McGee deal, Dewayne Dedmon could be a good option.

Dedmon was recently stretched by the Detroit Pistons after he was traded there. The Pistons did not see a fit long term with the team and decided to put him out onto the market. Now that he will still be paid his salary, a veteran minimum deal is well within reach for the Lakers.

He is a decent shot blocker that can help fill up some minutes at the five position. He is also a streaky shooter from 3-point range. He has shown glimpses of being good but also glimpses of being below average.

He has graded out as an average defender. But with Gasol being the defensive guy. Dedmon can come in and provide some offense for the team at center.

He won’t ever light up the scoreboard, but on a veteran minimum deal, he is a tremendous value. Pelinka could have some interest here.
