1. Kyle Kuzma

Lake Show Life might need to be renamed Kyle Kuzma life with how often we talk about the young forward but it is hard not to. He is a polarizing player as there are two schools of thought with him.

There are those that are holding out hope on what they saw in his first two seasons and think he can be a legitimate third or fourth-best guy on a title team. Then there are those that see his flaws defensively and offensively, as well as his fit on this team and think he is best elsewhere.

I probably fall more in the latter as I do think the Los Angeles Lakers would benefit from trading Kyle Kuzma, as long as they get the right return. Kuzma is a restricted free agent after this season and while there have been some murmurs of a contract extension, the Lakers really should not pay him what his market value will be.

Kuzma is going to be overvalued because he is a young forward that can provide playmaking off the bench. We saw in a setting in which he gets more usage that he can score almost 20 a night. It’s just that it not his role on this Lakers team and he does not do the two things needed as a bench forward for them: shoot threes and play good defense.

Again, the right trade needs to open up but I would not be all that shocked if we do see a Kuzma trade of some capacity this offseason. Heck, he was getting heavily shopped during the deadline last season and there were some rumblings this offseason. I doubt those go away for long.
