Marc Gasol was under fire after two games. He reminded everyone of what he brings to the Los Angeles Lakers!

After two games, it seemed that Marc Gasol couldn’t hit a shot from the field. In this game, he couldn’t miss.  Marc Gasol easily had his best game in a Lakers uniform knocking down all four of his shots (Three from long distance!) with a hook shot falling while getting fouled (He hit the free throw too!). Yes Lakers fans, Marc Gasol did not miss a shot all night long.

The majority of his damage was done with his passing. He hit numerous teammates with back door passes for easy layups. LeBron’s ankle was appreciative of Gasol’s brilliant passes. Instead of LeBron working so hard to initiate the offense, Gasol took over the playmaking duties.

Marc finished his night with 12 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds (2 offensive!), and had 4 blocks.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Marc Gasol became the first player in NBA history to finish with 12 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four blocks in 21 minutes or less since blocks became an official stat in 1973-74.

This site has been hit with comments lately about the struggles from Marc Gasol. Some even wondered why he was signed in the first place. Furthermore, pretty much everyone in the staff believes the team needs one more center.

Nobody is looking for Gasol to post near triple-doubles every night, but as as he continues to get in shape, his stats will improve.

Finally, Lake Show Life has a reminder that Gasol will struggle with athletic big men. Karl Anthony Towns did not play due to a dislocated wrist. His absence hurt the Wolves as he didn’t have to worry about defending to the 3 point line.

For now, the patience of Lakers fans will be a game by game exercise when it comes to Gasol.

The final lesson will be the overall look of the new vaunted Los Angeles Lakers offense.
