#4: Tyson Chandler

The second veteran player that the Los Angeles Lakers should be keeping their eye on is Tyson Chandler. Chandler is another player who spent time earlier in his career with the Lakers as he played with the team only two seasons ago.

Chandler also is a little bit over the hill. In the past two seasons including his year with the Lakers, Chandler has averaged 2.6 points and 4.6 rebounds. While he leaves a lot to be desired on the offensive side of the ball, there is still a case to be made that he provides enough on defense to make up for it.

He is a very solid defender, especially around the rim. This is something that may be a weakness for the Lakers next season. With the departures of both Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee, the team will be missing the elite interior defense that the two provided at the center position.

If it continues to show early in the season that this is a dire need for the Lakers to fix, Chandler should be near the top of the team’s list of targets. Although he could be a liability if he is caught in a pick a roll with a guard, Chandler would be a great end of the bench player to come into a game to throw extra help at a big.
