Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron gets a gift in win over Spurs, 5 Lessons
By Ronald Agers
Anthony Davis actually can help the Los Angeles Lakers if he gets a chance once in a while!
Lakers announcer Stu Lantz had a very good explanation concerning AD’s tough 13 point, 10 rebound performance on Monday night. Most times he would receive the ball up against an expiring shot clock and it affected his rhythm with rushed shots.
Lake Show Life knew that Davis would get some touches early and often after this statement after the loss to the Blazers via ESPN.
"“We just weren’t moving the ball that well,” Vogel said. “I’ve got to make sure I get (Davis) the ball in opportunities where he can be aggressive.”"
Well Vogel is known for making adjustments and he sure did when it got to getting Davis the ball.
When Dennis Schroder heard the rumor that Anthony Davis can be effective when he gets the ball, AD contributed 20 points, 8 rebounds and his first 2 blocks of the season. Yes, Lakers you read that right, his first two blocks.
The difference between this game and the last one was aggression. AD looked like he wanted to ease his way back in the flow and fit in the flow of the offense. This will not work if the Lakers want to win.
No matter what is said in the media, AD’s calf injury is a problem. He reaggravated it during the game and was noticeably limping. Plus even though he played better, AD is favoring the injury and that could lead to worse problems.
Sure Davis scored 20 points, but Lake Show Life already has made it clear that he can do that in his sleep.
But like LeBron, when the Lakers needed a bucket, he delivered.
The Lakers didn’t need a dominant game from Anthony Davis. Why? There was this guy that gave the San Antonio Spurs an actual “Six shooter” as in six long distance bombs. Read on to see who this player is.
